More Llama parts--especially for those that are new to llamas!

And Eye colors of some of my llamas.

Llamas have a split upper lip which helps them grip their grass and not tear it out by the roots Their noses have more cartilage than horses so halters must ride up higher on the nose bridge. Llamas have 2 toes and a foot pad; this gives them good traction and less damage to the trails. Llamas have 'scent glands' on their back legs. There is no scent that humans can smell but some folks say that they smell 'popcorn' when llamas ride in their cars...

Notice that llama eyes' pupil is horizontal.

Several of my llamas have very intriguingly colors--eyes with several colors--light brown with blue streaks; gray; medium blue with black; and these two favorites-- bright orange and steel blue.

Most of my llamas have brown eyes in several shades--from light rust to medium to dark brown.

I would love to see photos of other eye colors!
