Shenandoah River Outfitters, Inc from its beginnings has supplied canoes for river clean-ups as part of our environmental concern. These clean-ups have been from a bag of trash to flood debris. This has helped preserve and protect the beauty of the Shenandoah.
Anyone can participate in our 'Mid-week clean-up'. By picking up 2 bags of trash, you can have your canoe rental for $20/canoe for the day.
Our annual Operation Clean Water Day brings out 70-100 folks that are dedicated to cleaning up the flood debris left by Fran or any of the other storms. Every year less and less is brought out as flood 'treasures' are 're-cycled' to the dump.
2008 Operation Clean Water is Sunday, Sept. 28. Do call as water levels can changes plans. (RSVP please)
